Gran Canaria day 5 – Lost in the desert

When I woke up, I checked my bank account and saw that there was no money on it at all! I was broke. Of course I was a bit upset, but I tried to stay calm and thought about what to do next. As I wanted to go to the next place, I asked a friend of mine online if she can book a place for me. The money I had left was enough for some food and a bus ticket, so this wasn’t a problem at all. Fortunately she booked a place to stay for me via Airbnb in …

Gran Canaria day 3- The pizza incident or never leave your pizza unattended!

The next day, I woke up early and got ready for the bus. I had to be quick, as there was only one bus in the morning. Otherwise I would have had to wait another 5 hours. I waited for the bus, which came too late and I also had an even worse trip than before. This time the bus drove in the middle of the mountains, up and down, one curve after another, my stomach had troubles to survive this. The driver himself was simply mad! He talked on his mobile, drove in the middle of the road, didn’t …

Gran Canaria day 1 – My first experience in a brothel

One day ago I booked a flight to Gran Canaria without anything else, no Hostel, no Hotel, no plan, just the flight. And now I am in the airplane flying to Gran Canaria. The flight itself was bad as there were lots of children on board screaming and yelling. At the airport I had to wait longer in the queue for getting the passport checked, as there was only 1 guy checking them for several arrivals. It was also very warm and I was sweating like hell.   After this bad experience I decided to get out of the airport first and …

Paris – conclusion

Eiffel Tower Paris France

I have to say I enjoyed Paris pretty much. Especially after the Terror attack you could see how strong this city is. Life goes on in there and people doing their best to show the world that they are not afraid of the terrorists. If you want to visit Paris for your first time, you should consider going during the winter time, it is simply too full during the summer. To avoid tourists you should know that there is a sort of a triangle. Eiffel tower – Louvre – Notre Dame. This triangle is overfilled with tourists. You should only …

Paris day 3 and 4 – the Bataclan

My last full day in Paris! I couldn’t wait to get out! Also the sun was finally showing up! So after the usual morning stuff I walked to the Louvre and from there to the invisible bridge – the one that seems to be made of locks – and made my way to the Eiffel Tower. On my way some armed military crossed my way, which was a bit terrifying for me. But I was slowly getting use to that. A few streets later I got into the Metro from Assemblee Nationale and left the Metro again at La Motte Picquet Grenelle. …

Paris day 2 – No tourists for Mona Lisa

As usual I woke up, had my breakfast and my shower and packed my stuff for the day. I also got to know my roommate Flo. He is from France but lived in South Africa for the last 6 months. He went to Paris to find a flat and start the next step for his life. We arranged to meet up for a dinner tonight. Then I went to the Louvre. Armed Police was everywhere. I couldn’t find the entrance to the Louvre so I got all of my courage together to ask one of the police men and they …

Paris Day 1 – The city after the terror

Eiffel tower french flag night Paris

This what I will write about the next weeks is an experience I will never forget in my life. I went to Paris exactly 1 week after the attack of the IS. The airplane of the flight Dublin – Paris was just half full. And I was able to smell the fear of the people inside the airplane. Even I was afraid, I didn’t know what I would find there. After the landing I got through the pass control and saw armed military everywhere in the airport immediately. I remembered that I read some days ago that they were planning …
